Here's what we were working with - an older whirlpool tub surround, a framed shower enclosure with dated tile, and a layout that just wasn't doing the space any favors. The bones were there, but everything about it felt heavy and outdated. The homeowners wanted something that actually felt good to walk into every single day.

We gutted it and rebuilt it around comfort and function. The walk-in shower got a full custom tile treatment - large-format marble-look tile on the walls, hexagon stone mosaic on the floor, and a floating corner seat built right into the space. Everything in there has a purpose. The recessed niche is tiled with the same hex mosaic to tie it together, and the oil-rubbed bronze hardware runs throughout - grab bar, shower fixtures, door hardware - so nothing feels mismatched.

The frameless glass enclosure makes a huge difference in a room like this. No framing means no visual clutter, and the space reads much bigger and cleaner than it did before. We paired that with a freestanding soaking tub centered under the window, with an oil-rubbed bronze floor-mount filler to match. It's a simple, timeless combination that holds up way better than trends that come and go.

The floor tile carries throughout the whole bathroom - same large-format stone look from wall to wall - which keeps everything cohesive and connected. Small decisions like that are what separate a bathroom that looks good in photos from one that actually feels designed. We think about how all the pieces relate to each other before a single tile goes down.

This is the kind of bathroom remodel that adds real value to a home. Not just in resale, but in everyday quality of life. A space you actually want to spend time in. That's what good custom tile work and thoughtful remodeling can do - and it's exactly what we set out to build for this Madison family.
