Sometimes a kitchen just needs a few targeted updates to feel completely different. That was exactly the situation here in Social Circle. The bones were good - solid white cabinetry, decent layout, plenty of counter space. But the dark backsplash and old countertops were dragging the whole room down.
We came in and swapped out the backsplash for a travertine tile that gives the space a much warmer, more natural feel. The texture and tone of travertine is hard to beat - it pairs well with almost any cabinet color and holds up great in a kitchen environment. It was a straightforward choice for this space.
The countertops got replaced with sunset canyon, which brings in those warm brown and grey tones that tie everything together. Going from the old surface to this was a night-and-day difference. The new sink rounds it all out - cleaner lines, better function, and it just feels right for a kitchen that gets daily use.
What we love about this kind of work is that it doesn't require gutting the whole kitchen. The cabinetry stayed. The layout stayed. We just focused on the surfaces that people interact with every single day - and that's where the impact really shows. A backsplash, countertops, and a sink can completely shift how a kitchen feels to cook and clean in.
Kitchen remodeling doesn't have to be an overwhelming project. Sometimes the smartest move is identifying the right things to change and doing them well. That's what we aimed for here, and this Social Circle homeowner ended up with a kitchen that works better and looks a whole lot better too.
